ILEX MEDICAL (TASE:ILX) announces that its biotech subsidiary Capsivit, whose share are 56% controlled by ILEX MEDICAL, completed successfully its first pre-production of high content (over 30%) natural free carotenoids - (bio available) the major substance being Capsantin, one of the most powerful anti oxidant anti aging natural molecule - (over 3 times the licopene strength).
The research, which started close to 4 years ago, was conducted by Prof. J. Kanner and Prof. A. Levy of the Israeli institute of Agricultural research (Volcani institute)
Evaluation samples have already been sent to several multi national companies showing interest in this innovative product.
Free Carotenoids, are important as anti oxidant anti aging factors, and are used in food supplements, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries - replacing in many instances synthetic products.
Commercialization and first sales are expected toward end of 2005
